For a while now, rumors have suggested that Exynos 8 Series 9810 processor will power the upcoming Galaxy S9 smartphone. If you were wondering if the new processor will live up to expectations, then you will be glad to know that the company’s latest processor as well as new 16GB DDR6 memory won 2018 CES Innovation Awards.
For a while now, Samsung has advertised its latest 16GB memory as the faster and lowest power consuming DRAM for next generation. For instance, the memory processes images and video at 16Gbps with 64GB/s data I/O bandwidth. In addition to this, the new DRAM can operate at 1.35 volts which gives it considerable advantage compared to present day graphics memories that use 1.5 volts for 8Gbps speed.
On the other hand, the Exynos 9810 processor will feature an upgraded GPU and a gigabit LTE modem. For a while now, reports suggested that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S9 smartphone will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor but will include Exynos 9 series processor in selected markets. Apart from that, the phone will feature a 6.0” OLED display with 64GB storage, 6GB of RAM and 12MP of camera.
However, such reports should be taken with grains of salt as there is no official confirmation regarding the upcoming flagship smartphone. Whatever happens, we will have to wait to find out how Samsung responds to Apple’s latest iPhone X which has attracted pretty positive reviews so far. As we come close to the announcements related to Galaxy S9, more details regarding Galaxy S9 are likely to be released by company.
