Although Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant first arrived with the company’s line of smart speakers, over last couple of months, a large number of tablets, TVs, and other gadgets from Amazon and third-party companies has contained the assistant. And now, it seems that we are going to see lot more Alexa-enabled wearables as Amazon has recently introduced a new Alexa Mobile Accessory Kit.
Thanks to the latest kits, companies will now be able to add Alexa to any device with audio capabilities and Bluetooth wireless support. However, users will be required to have Alexa app installed in their Android or iOS devices to use Alexa in other accessories.
While it is still early to predict the outcome, this latest move makes a lot of sense considering Google and Apple have recently started to bring their own line of voice assistants in addition to the third party accessories that already work with both Siri and Google Assistant.
However, Amazon didn’t have much of a success with its smartphones and it’s unsurprising that the company is trying to expand its reach by giving more options. Despite that, we will have to wait to find out if the upcoming products will help out the company in the long run as companies like Bose, Beyderynamic, Jabra, iHome, and Linkplay are already developing their products using the kit.
