Earlier last year, Razer surprised everyone with its entry to smartphone market as it launched smartphones targeted towards gamers. Although the smartphone didn’t get as much praise as the company would like, the smartphone featured 120Hz display, better speakers among other features which were pretty well received by users. And now, recent rumors have suggested that Xiaomi might be working on bringing its version of gaming smartphone later this year.
The latest news comes thanks to a post on Wiebo by a company named “Black Shark” which is a subsidiary of Xiaomi. The post https://weibo.com/u/6362186431 revealed that it is working on a flagship smartphone targeted towards gamers.
If the post is accurate, then consumers will get a smartphone which will feature DSP integrated graphics and aviation-class cooling system.
While the idea sounds intriguing, it’s worth to note that, unlike PC games, smartphone games aren’t particularly hardware intensive due to the business model. However, there is definitely a niche market where high-end gaming device might be an attraction. At the moment, we will have to wait to find out if the company goes ahead with the plan to release a gaming smartphone in the coming months.
