Although major Android smartphone manufacturers often take months to ship out latest version of Android to their smartphones, Essential shocked quite a few at the start of the month as the company made Android 9.0 Pie available to PH-1 owners. While users have shared positive views on the update, YouTube at the time did not support pinch-to-zoom for more immersive experience. However, the latest YouTube app update finally brings the pinch-to-zoom support to the Essential Phone.
The latest news comes after several users have posted on Reddit that after downloading the update, you will need to clear the cache of the app and the pinch-to-zoom support becomes available. With the ability, users will be able to pinch video on the platform to go full screen.
In order to do this, you will need to click the long tap the YouTube app and click on the i icon which will pop-up in the new menu. From here, you will be able to access App Info menu of the YouTube app. Afterwards, you will need to click on ‘storage’ and click ‘clear cache’.
