As Facebook has grown over the years, the company has brought a number of new changes to its mobile apps. However, these changes also meant that the app will end up becoming cluttered with multitude of options. In order to make the app user friendly, Facebook has finally decided to introduce customizable notification bar.
If you use Facebook on a regular basis, then you might already be familiar with the annoying notifications on the app’s navigation bar. While these dots are meant to provide better user experience, they end up making the application cluttered and difficult to use.
In order to solve this problem, Facebook now allows users to decide what they want to see in the app’s main navigation bar using the Shortcut Bar Settings. Additionally, you can tap and select certain bars such as Groups, Watch, Events, Profile, Friend Requests, News etc. to remove them from the notification bars. Moreover, you will be able to mute notifications for these options as well.
This latest addition to Facebook comes a year after the company initially announced that it will be allowing users to personalize their navigation bar to meet their needs. At the time, Facebook’s product manager Alexa Andrzejewski said, "We want the shortcuts available in the navigation bar to reflect how an individual uses Facebook. To that end, we're customizing mobile shortcuts so everyone can more easily connect with their most frequently used products, such as Profile, Marketplace, Groups, Watch, and Friend Requests."
