Although Apple is rumored to be working on an AR headset for a while now, there hasn’t been any official confirmation regarding the release date for the products. However, recently Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that Apple might be introducing its AR headset sometimes later next year. Given that Kuo has been pretty reliable in his prediction in the past, it wouldn’t be surprising if Apple indeed reveals the headset sometime in 2020. However, a new report has claimed that we might have to wait longer to get the product from Apple.
According to the report from Mark Gurman, Apple’s AR headset might have been delayed until 2021 or 2022. Gurman claimed that although Apple is working on some sort of AR/VR hybrid, the product won’t be launched anytime soon. Moreover, the tech giant is also working on a pair of lightweight AR glasses that will be launched in 2023.
The report claimed that Apple initially had plans for its first AR headset next year but eventually decided that the product won’t be ready at the time. Given that there hasn’t been any confirmation from Apple regarding the devices, it’s likely that we won’t hear about potential release date from the company anytime soon.
